Kicking Off “Learning for All” in Uppsala

In January 2023, partners of the Learning for All project came together in Uppsala, Sweden, for the project’s kickoff meeting. Hosted by Folkuniversitetet, this meeting marked the first step in our joint efforts to foster more inclusive adult education systems across Europe.

Central to the agenda was Work Package 2: Participatory Evaluation. Discussions focused on developing a Digital Benchmarking Tool that will help adult education organisations assess and improve their inclusivity practices—especially for learners from migrant and refugee backgrounds, as well as the staff who support them.

During the session, partners brainstormed the framework for the tool, considering how to reflect the real experiences of both adult learners and educators. The outcome was a shared commitment to co-creating a resource that supports long-term organisational change, driven by evidence, empathy, and the voices of those often left out.

The meeting set a strong foundation for the work ahead and underlined our shared belief: that inclusive adult education is not just a goal-it’s a right.
