Folkuniversitetet is an independent, non-profit adult education organisation that provides a diverse range of adult education courses across Sweden. Our mission is to empower individuals with knowledge and creativity for a fulfilling life. We believe in the intrinsic value of knowledge, serving both individuals and society. Folkuniversitetet fosters an environment for free pursuit of learning, cultural exploration, and reflection, guided by the principle of "folkbildning" – the universal right to lifelong learning.
Collaborating closely with Swedish universities, our education is grounded in scientific rigor and academic principles, aiming to disseminate new research to the public. We embrace an international perspective, drawing inspiration and ideas from cooperation with schools across Europe and participation in global networks.
Our work includes courses with experienced teachers, activities for job seekers, international language certificates, art and culture education, higher vocational education, Swedish for immigrants, Erasmus+ projects and much more.
